Pontiac Montana

Posted by Pontiac guru on February 2nd, 2007

A vehicle with a depressing past and certain doomed future.  This Chevrolet Venture wannabe has attempted to establish its own name…and pretty much fizzled out.  A van is a van is a van.  People want more style and pizzas for their money and the Montana definitely does not exude originality and is completely devoid of any style what-so-ever.

Pontiac Parts

Posted by Pontiac guru on January 9th, 2007

I attempted a search for Pontiac Parts using a very popular site and got inundated with millions of hits.  How can that be?  I just want a quick simple answer!  Why must I endure the era of Search-Engine spammage.  Yep, you guessed it.  The Spam has leaped out of the Email Realm and into the search engines.  How can we find the time to sort through all the results from our search engine fiasco.  How will we survive?

It became a compact car from 1995-2006. Now the Pontiac G6 has replaced it.

Pontiac G6 - Get Your Big Six

Posted by Pontiac guru on October 18th, 2006

First, the 2007 Pontiac G6 review. The G6 from Pontiac is an answer to the disappearance of the Grand Am.  A refreshed look and smoother styling compliments the look and the Pontiac G6 performance is about what you’d expect from a compact sedan.  And then the fun begins.  Tearing away from the basic sedan are the pepped-up GT, GTP, a rev-happy coupe and sun-loving retractable hardtop which promise to hold their own on the competitive road.

The Pontiac Trans Am Now and Then

Posted by Pontiac guru on October 14th, 2006

The Pontiac Firebird Trans Am is one of the more popular muscle cars of its time. The 455 motor first appeared in 1971 as the 455-HO. In 1973-1974, a special version of the 455 called the SD-455 was an option. The 455 was one of the last high-performance muscle motors of the original muscle car generation. In 1975-1976 Pontiac Trans Am models the 400 engine was the only other option available.

Pontiac Sunfire: Years in Review

Posted by Pontiac guru on September 12th, 2006

The Pontiac Sunfire, born a few years before the Firebird’s ultimate demise, was Pontiac’s attempt to combine a family based compact with performance enthusiast styling.  Looking back on Pontiac’s past accomplishments it would be easy to assume that the idea of the Sunfire would be an instant success; but the Sunfire never reached the popularity of its predecessors, the Firebird and Sunbird.

Pontiac - the greatest muscle car

Posted by Pontiac guru on July 5th, 2006

It has recently occurred to me that of all the car manufacturers out there; Pontiac is the maker of more performance vehicles than almost anyone. If you don’t believe me, then prepare to become a believer. To kick things off I think it is appropriate to begin with one of the greatest muscle cars to have ever hit the American streets back in 1967, the Pontiac Firebird.

The firebird has always been a midline affordable sports car with aggressive and breathtaking styling that would eventually make this car a legend in its time. Having ceased production in 2002, we can now only await what could possible be a comeback; that is if the all new retro Camaro, GTO, and Cuda achieve the success they are being hyped to.

Speaking of the GTO; this is one sweet ride if you don’t mind me saying. The overall looks are lacking somewhat as far as the retro styling of the original; but if raw, untamed horsepower offers bonus points in your book, then I think you just might be able to over look the styling for the fun you will be having behind the wheel.

Next on our list is Firebirds little brother, the Pontiac Sunfire. The Sunfire was Pontiac’s attempt to combine a family based compact with performance enthusiast styling. Unfortunately the Sunfire never successfully took off in the market and is now also gone with no chance of a revival in the future.
